Summer Study Abroad in Seville

2025 Summer Study Abroad in Spain Program Information

Want to go abroad but don’t have enough time for an Internship? Our study abroad in Spain option is a great way to experience Spanish culture while still growing. Experience the best of what Spain has to offer through this program.

This short and effective summer option includes 3 intensive weeks of living and learning in Sevilla. The first 3-week session is for students who can speak and understand some Spanish, an upper-intermediate level to be exact. The second 3-weeks session is taught in English, so no Spanish language level is required. Maximize your time in Spain this summer and rapidly increase your Spanish language level.

Spend your summer vacation living independently in Europe. Add a second language to your Resume, begin to become more culturally competent, develop more flexibility through problem-solving, eat amazing food, and hopefully stay on a bit longer so you can travel and explore more of Spain on your own.

Hear From Our Candidates

I enjoyed my time in Barcelona very much. I was ecstatic to get there and start. When I first started it wasn’t exactly what I was expecting. Nonetheless, I enjoyed every minute of it. I have made some dear friends. I can say I will be back in Barcelona. I would recommend Adelante. Without them, none of this would have been possible. Spain in general is beautiful, but Barcelona has to be my favorite. It has everything. From mountains, oceans, beaches, forests, etc. They have the cold, breezy weather and the hot, humid weather.

“I have been loving [my internship] already. My coworkers, and my boss, Antonia, have all been wonderful. They are patient with me as I work on my Spanish, and I have began to learn the ins and outs of what they do there. Next week, I will be giving my own presentation in Spanish, and I am looking forward to it!”

I originally chose this program with Adelante because it was by far the cheapest one available. The price is reasonable and includes meals and housing– both of which turned out great. I loved my host and the meals she made for me. I felt at home there. Also, Sevilla, in general, is a beautiful city that is very safe, colorful, and walkable. The university (UPO) is not within walking distance but has its own metro stop so getting to class is easy and convenient. The courses required some work but were not overly stressful. Adelante was helpful as well with connecting me with a local study abroad program and continuing to check up on me through email throughout my stay. I will say that the program works best for students that are independent, as Adelante representatives will tell you. Many other programs are so expensive because they have some trips bundled in the cost– this is not the case with Adelante. So, if you are interested in planning your own trips and activities around Spain/Europe with more flexibility, this program may be a good fit. You also may want to consider how willing you are to meet new people and try solo travel for the times when the schedules of other students who have more boxed-in programs don’t align with your travel plans. These aspects worked for me and I got to travel a lot with the money I saved by choosing this program– also, there are many student/erasmus travel programs for the weekend like We Love Spain which I also would recommend. Sevilla is a beautiful city and I had an awesome time there. I gained a lot of confidence in myself during my stay there and would highly recommend it!
